Mahyar historical caravanserai in Iran’s Isfahan: Photos

Mahyar caravanserai in Iran’s Isfahan is one of the prominent examples of architecture in the Safavid dynasty.

Mahyar caravanserai (roadside inn) in Iran’s Isfahan Province, is one of the prominent examples of architecture in the Safavid dynasty.

Mahyar caravanserai lies in a village of the same name and on a road that connects Isfahan to Shiraz.

The historical caravanserai is of high importance due to its proximity to a bazaar (market), mosque, coffee shop and bakery, which have been built a stone's throw from the historical site and are rarely seen near other caravanserais.

The caravanserai is inscribed on Iran’s National Heritage List.
